Purpose and information handled

BROKR private backups stores encrypted application recovery files in the owner's Google Drive. These files may contain saved research, settings, read-only account observations and paper-trading history. It checks the Google account email and storage quota to verify the chosen destination and available capacity.

Access and storage

The requested Google permission is drive.file: access to specific files created or opened with this app. Google authorization tokens are kept on the private operating server with restricted file permissions to support unattended backup requests. They are not included in the uploaded recovery archive. The recovery key is stored separately and is not uploaded to Drive by this utility.

Recovery checks

Recovery files are encrypted before upload. Verification downloads the encrypted file, checks its checksum, and restores it into an isolated temporary directory on the operating server. That temporary plaintext recovery directory is removed after the check. A failed check does not replace the last verified recovery receipt.

Recipients and retention

Google Drive stores the encrypted recovery files; the owner's DigitalOcean server processes the backups and verification. This utility does not use backup contents for advertising, sell them, or deliberately make them publicly accessible. Its scheduled retention rule keeps the seven most recent encrypted backups in its own automatic-backup folder after a newer recovery has passed verification. Separately made recovery copies are outside that rule.

Owner controls

The owner can disable the backup schedule, remove the app's access through Google Account connections, and manage recovery files in Google Drive. Revoking access does not delete copies already stored. Losing the separate recovery key can prevent recovery; keep it in a secure location separate from the uploaded files.
